If you pick a "cover file" to view, you should note that these files are PDF format, which is an ADOBE ACROBAT 4 file format. You must have
already installed the Adobe Acrobat Ver 4 reader on your machine in order
to be able to view these. If your browser tells you it doesn't know how to
handle the file, or gives you some other error message, it probably means
that you have never installed the ADOBE ACROBAT READER, which is a free

TROUBLESHOOTING: I've gotten several questions from people regarding
the printing of the covers and the fact that when they get printed out,
they don't fit a cd jewel case correctly. This shouldn't
happen, as the PDF files should scale to the correct size. But here
are some troubleshooting steps if you encounter this problem...
BE SURE NOT TO SELECT THE "FIT TO PAGE" OPTION WHEN PRINTING! When you tell Adobe to print, a box will come up that has 4 check boxes. One of those check boxes says "fit to page", and sometimes, especially on new installations, the "fit to page" option is checked ON. If you print this way, the resulting printout will be smaller than the proper size of the cd boxes. Make sure that NONE of the four boxes have an "X" mark when you are printing. If you don't see these boxes when you are printing, try printing by choosing the print or print setup options from the "FILE" menu in Adobe, instead of pressing the print icon. The #1 reported problem that I've received from people who are having trouble printing the CD covers is due to this setting!
1. Check which version of Adobe Acrobat you are using. Version 3 will
probably be able to read & display these covers on your screen, but it
may not work correctly when you go to print the covers. If you're
using Version 3 of Adobe Acrobat, and you're having printing problems, the
first thing I'd suggest is that you upgrade your system to the latest
version (which is available by following the link mentioned
above). If this doesn't solve your problem, proceed to step
2...
2. Check your Control Panel/Printers setting to see which type of
printer Windows is printing to. (Obviously MAC users won't want to follow
these instructions!). If your computer is set up to print to a
particular brand & model of printer, and you're not using that EXACT
brand & model, this could be the cause of the printing problems.
Since each printer manufacturer is responsible for building and supporting
their own drivers, you find quite a bit of variation on the quality and
reliability of the printer drivers. But, in my experience,
I've found that if you're having printing problems, the first thing you
want to try is to get an exact match between printer driver and printer.
If you have a Canon 635, for example, you may find that you have your copy
of Windows set up to print to a Canon 630 printer. Sometimes, something
like this will not be a problem; other times, it will be the cause of all
of your printing problems. So verify the printer driver make
AND model number and compare it to your printer. If they're not the same,
you may need to do some digging through your manuals & associated
computer "stuff" so that you can install the correct printer driver.
3. If you have the correct printer driver for the printer you are
using, you may need to get an updated version of this software from the
printer manufacturer. Most printer manufacturers will maintain a web
site or ftp site that contains the latest copies of their printer drivers.
Sometimes the newer version will correct issues that come up in the older
versions. Most software won't need the newer version, so the manufacturers
don't bother telling you about the fact that a new version is available.
But if you're running into trouble, you should check this angle out to see
if a simple software upgrade can fix your problem.
4. Beyond these three suggestions, I'd suggest that you send me an
email and tell me what kind of problem you're having. Include the
following information, Type of Printer (Exact Make & Model),
Version of Windows (NT, 98, 95, 2000, etc), What printer setting is being
used (Go to Control Panel/Printers). It would probably also help for you
to give me VERSION information on the printer drivers if you can.
Also tell me which cover you're having the trouble with. Finally, the
version of Adobe Acrobat. I can't promise you that I'll be able to
help you out, but I can try.
5. If all else fails, you can copy the images from the PDF files by
displaying the covers on the screen, and then pressing the PRINTSCREEN key
on your keyboard. This will copy the screen image to the clipboard and
from there you can paste the screen image into a graphics program, such as
MS Paint (Paintbrush). Once you get the image into Paintbrush, you
can cut the portion of the image you want to use, and then paste it into
another program and manipulate the size. It's a real hassle, but if
you're desperate enough, it's an option.
As you will no doubt see, In addition to using my own photographs, I've "borrowed" images and artwork from a variety of sources on the internet. If one of the images that I've used in my covers is something
that you hold the copyright to, I hope that you will consider my use of your work the highest form of flattery. I am not selling any of these covers or CDs, and I make no profit from using these works. If you would like me to remove a particular item from this web site, please Send me an email and I will be happy to do so.
Good Luck!
